The Standard PVC beds are designed for dogs less than 100 lbs. while our All Aluminum bed has been tested up to 250 lbs.

For dogs with Atopic Allergies

Dogs with atopic allergies suffer from an allergic response to something inhaled (think ragweed, pollen, mold, and/or dust mites). For these dogs we recommend either the outdoor mesh or the heavy duty vinyl. This is because neither of these fabrics will harbor allergens like pollen that may have come from the dog’s fur coat or paws. They are both very easily cleaned so irritants can just be wiped off with a damp cloth or hosed down and wiped dry, ready for immediate use after cleaning.

For dogs with Contact Dermatitis

Dogs with skin sensitivity usually prefer our textured nylon which is a cordura nylon that does not have a vinyl coating on it. We have found that dogs with sensitive skin can be irritated by the vinyl coating that makes our other fabric options easier to clean. The textured nylon is similar to a canvas or a brushed cotton so if your dog with sensitive skin is not offended by similar fabric types, he will likely fare well with this option.

Outdoor Mesh (Vinyl Weave) is great for outdoor use. The open weave allows air and water to flow through, helping dogs stay cool and dry. Because this fabric is an open weave, it will not hold up against persistent digging and is not covered by our warranty.

Textured Nylon (Cordura Nylon) is abrasion resistant high-denier nylon. Similar to a canvas or brushed cotton, it is ideal for older dogs as it provides plenty of traction getting on and off the bed. It’s also the best fabric choice for dogs with sensitive skin or allergies.

Smooth Nylon (Ballistic Nylon) is our best selling retail fabric. It is durable like Cordura but with a smooth finish that won’t catch hair, making it easier to clean. This fabric is not an option with the XXL (50×35) size beds.

Heavy Duty Vinyl (40 oz. Vinyl) is our most durable option. It is a solid, vinyl coated polyester that is ideal for persistent diggers and for frequent cleaning/sanitizing. It is what we recommend for our professional customers.

Our outdoor mesh is ideal for either very warm climates or for dogs who always seem to look for the coolest place in the house to sleep. It is very breathable, just like what you find on patio furniture and will not retain or reflect a dog’s own body heat. Because our beds keep your dog up off the floor, air circulation underneath the bed helps to keep your dog cool and dry.( it will not hold up against persistent digging)

Our outdoor mesh is just like what you’d find on patio furniture. It is a porous material that is very breathable and will allow urine to pass through it. If you have a dog that needs quick drainage for larger messes, contact us about an open weave material that we can make just for your dog.

The heavy duty vinyl is our most durable option. It is vinyl-coated polyester and the choice of our professional customers. It is exceptionally durable and easy to clean and sanitize. This is our best option for those dogs that are up for a challenge.

We also always recommend the all-aluminum dog bed for destructive dogs. The aluminum frame paired with the heavy duty vinyl is our most durable dog bed and the best option for repeat bed offenders.

The textured nylon (Cordura) is great for older dogs because it provides the most traction and security when getting on and off the bed. It is also the material that is the most similar to what you’ll find on most pillow beds s if that’s what your dog has been used to, this will be an easy transition. If you think your older dog would prefer a shorter bed height, just give us a call and we can substitute in shorter legs.

Our outdoor mesh is perfect for beds that will be left outdoors. It is an open weave, just like what you’ll find on your patio furniture that will allow rain water to pass through it. Because this material is so breathable, it is also more vulnerable to destructive dogs and is not covered under our chew proof warranty. If you need something to use outside, with a dog that can be destructive, use our heavy duty vinyl. It is very durable and not absorbent so if it gets rained on, you’ll just have to wipe it off and it’s ready to be used again!

Our outdoor mesh and the heavy duty vinyl are the easiest to clean because these materials are non-absorbent which means they are dry as soon as you wipe them off. You can hose/spray these materials off and wipe them dry and they are ready to use right away!

Our Smooth Nylon is also easy to clean because it has a waterproof coating on it. The smooth surface keeps dog hair from sticking to the fabric however this is a sewn fabric and will take longer to dry if fully staturated and will stain more easily than the outdoor mesh and the heavy duty vinyl. This material is similar to the fabric used on soft-sided luggage. It is very durable and stays looking new for a very long time.

Yes! All bed pads and accessories, which include our deluxe fleece pad, the reversible fleece pad, the canvas bed pad, the bolster & reversible fleece and the slip cover, can be machine washed cold and tumble dried on low.

Most orders ship within 2-3 business days for domestic orders. We ship all Kuranda Beds and accessories out of Chennai, Tamilnadu, with convenience for air and seaports for export orders. Absolutely! We do not list them for sale on our website so that our customer service representatives can help make sure your order is for the appropriate size. The legs that the bed will come with are not adjustable but we have several leg heights available that can be substituted at no extra charge. Done when you place the order with just an email or phone call to us.

Beds sized XS-L come with a 4 ¾” leg. The XL & XXL beds come with a 7” leg and our crate beds come with 3” legs. If you prefer a leg height that does not come standard with the size bed you would like to order, just call our customer service department and they can assist you in substituting a different leg with your bed, +91 95439 99777
